This is a fork of the iTerm project hosted on Sourceforge, the development of which has been languishing for a while. iTerm2 is a full featured terminal emulation program written for OS X using Cocoa. We are aiming at providing users with best command line experience under OS X. The letter i represents a native apple look and feel of the program interface, and an emphasis on complete international support.

Yakuake is a drop-down (Quake-style) terminal emulator based on KDE Konsole technology. Its design was inspired from consoles in computer games such as Quake which slide down from the top of the screen when a key is pressed, and slide back up when the key is pressed again.Yakuake, in the same way as Kate, KDevelop and Konqueror, relies on Konsole to offer the terminal functionality, embedding it in the application as a KPart component.

Guake is a top-down terminal for Gnome (in the style of Yakuake for KDE, Tilda or the terminal used in Quake). Guake is already package by a number of distribution (among them are Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu or ArchLinux).

Cool Retro Term (CRT) is a terminal emulator which mimics the look and feel of the old cathode tube screens. It has been designed to be eye-candy, customizable, and reasonably lightweight.

Mintty is a terminal emulator for Cygwin that is based on code from PuTTY 0.60 by Simon Tatham and team.

console - This is a modified version of Console 2 for a better experience under Windows Vista/7/8 and a better visual rendering.

Tilda is a Linux terminal taking after the likeness of many classic terminals from first person shooter games, Quake, Doom and Half-Life to name a few, where the terminal has no border and is hidden from the desktop till a key or keys is hit.

Rxvt-unicode is a highly customizable terminal emulator forked from rxvt. Commonly known as urxvt, rxvt-unicode can be daemonized to run clients within a single process in order to minimize the use of system resources. Developed by Marc Lehmann, some of the more outstanding features of rxvt-unicode include international language support through Unicode, the ability to display multiple font types and support for Perl extensions.

A system-wide terminal accessible via a hot-key. TotalTerminal is a plugin for Terminal.app. It provides persistent Visor Window which slides down when you press a hot-key. Remember Quake Console?

RXVT –our extended virtual terminal– is a terminal emulator for X11. It is a popular replacement for the standard ‘xterm’.

Based on rxvt. Tabbed interface. Very lightweight. Few dependencies. Only drawback is poor unicode support (theres an SVN branch with working but slightly buggy support)

Stjerm is a roll-down, quake-like terminal emulator. It's window is shown with a key shortcut. Stjerm is very minimalistic and works well with Compiz window manager.
