vnStat!

nStat --- vnStat is a console-based network traffic monitor for Linux and BSD that keeps a log of network traffic for the selected interface(s. It uses the network interface statistics provided by the kernel as information source. This means that vnStat won't actually be sniffing any traffic and also ensures light use of system resources. This program is open source GPL'ed and can be installed either as root or as a single user. Better instructions are included in the README. • Cacti

  • Cacti is a complete frontend to RRDTool, it stores all of the necessary information to create graphs and populate them with data in a MySQL database. The frontend is completely PHP driven. Along with being able to maintain graphs, data sources, and Round Robin archives in a database, cacti handles the data gathering. There is also SNMP support for those used to creating traffic graphs with MRTG.

  • BandwidthD

  • BandwidthD tracks usage of TCP/IP network subnets and builds html files with graphs to display utilization. Charts are built by individual IPs, and by default display utilization over 2 day, 8 day, 40 day, and 400 day periods. Furthermore, each ip address's utilization can be logged out at intervals of 3.3 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hour or 12 hours in cdf format, or to a backend database server. HTTP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, VPN, and P2P traffic are color coded.
