LyX is a document processor. It combines the power and flexibility of TeX/LaTeX, an advanced typesetting system, with the ease of use of a graphical interface.

Gummi is a lightweight LaTeX editor for the Linux/GTK+ platform, released as free open-source software. Verbum is a simple, user friendly word processor that works with a wide selection of file formats. When working with Verbum, do not expect to find fancy ribbon menus or lots of tools, like in Microsoft Office.
