Easy Poster Printer!

Lucidpress is a web-based design and layout application that enables anyone to create beautiful print and digital documents.

The Rasterbator creates huge, rasterized images from any picture. Upload an image, print the resulting multi-page half-toned pdf file and assemble the pages into extremely cool looking poster up to 20 meters in size.

Posterizer allows you to print stunning wall art at home - for free. Use the rasterbator to create raster tiles from any image and download printable files that can be reassembled to the original image at poster scale.

This requires the installation of Python and pyPDF. Out of the gate, the script does not provide for image overlap, however there is a patch that does fix this. The patch requires replacing 5-6 lines in 3 files and adding 2-3 new ones, its very easy. The patch is here: http://pdfposter.origo.ethz.ch/node/39 .

ProPoster is software for big banner printing, sign printing, poster printing, mural printing, wall photo printing. ProPoster does not require special plotters, it simply prints on standard printers. Any picture, digital photo, Microsoft Word document, Excel spreadsheet can be used as a source for the multipage poster. Also, it is possible to print a poster from a scanner.

This very simple script requires the installation of Python, Python imaging and ImageMagick. Its crying out for a web front end and maybe generalization Perl and PHP versions as well as a front end.
