nvALT is a fork of the original Notational Velocity with some additional features and interface modifications by Brett Terpstra and ElasticThreads.

Very similar to Notational Velocity but for Windows.

Filenotes is an app designed for simple note taking and cloud sync. It has no closed or proprietary formats, no lock-in and is compatible with any device which supports text files.
