Mounds State Park, in Anderson Indiana, contains and preserves some of the finest examples of prehistoric Native American earthworks and mound building in Indiana. Built by the Adena and Hopewell cultures around 160 B.C., the 10 mounds and earthworks within the park range in size from a few inches tall to several feet high. Mounds State Park companion provides visitors information about the park and its history beyond what is readily available on park signage.
