XSane is a graphical scanning front-end for SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy). It uses the SANE-library to talk to scanners. Scanned Image Extractor is a tool for efficiently extracting rectangular photographs from album or (multiple) photograph scans. It is semi-automated, hence it tries to suggest recognized photographs but you have to verify, delete bad suggestions and possibly add missing photographs manually.
